Weird Stuff at H-Mart Part 1 Chinese Long Squash (Opo squash, Gwa, Bau, Lauki))
This week I am going to be posting about the items I picked up from the Korean Grocery store. I often find items I have no idea what to do with. The weird item of this meal is the Chinese Long Squash. My boyfriend picked it up and made several suggestive references with it. So out of annoyance I bought it.
A bit about this **long squash** is an elongated that is anywhere from 1-2 feet, fat and round, light green with a little stem on one end. The young flesh is soft spongy white, with white seeds. The older it gets the harder the skin. it is very similar of zucchini.
Prepping and Eating Tips
I sliced it with the skin with my pampered chef slicer. I was busy sauteeing my mushrooms and onions in a griddle pan so I heated the oven to 400. I placed them on a non stick cookie sheet. Drizzled with evo and salt and pepper. I cooked for 10 mins and finished in the pan where I was cooking the other veggies in soy sauce and fresh parsley, thai basil, and ginger.
I prepared salmon glazed with soy sauce and lime.
